MORE INFORMATION
Location
Vedema is in the ancient village of Megalochori, with its narrow cobblestone streets and traditional Cycladic architecture. Nearby, you'll find plenty to do and see including beaches, wineries and a hiking trail, as well as other traditional villages. Visit Pyrgos, the highest village on the island for its spectacular sunsets.
The resort is 5km from Fira and the port of Athinios, while it's under a 20-minute drive from the airport.
By plane: London or Manchester to Thira takes around 4 hours, after which, a taxi takes less than 20 minutes. Free on-site parking available. Book flights to Thira.
Style
Originally a cluster of village houses, the resort is connected by winding paths with the centrepiece being the 400 year-old wine cellar, which is well preserved. Around this, you'll find the public areas and outdoor swimming pools. The ambience is relaxed and with the small number of accommodation giving a boutique feel, the restaurants and pools are never over-crowded. Enjoy views of the village, vineyards and Aegean Sea.
Service & Facilities
The hotel runs shuttles to Fira and Perivolos Beach. The concierge team can organise activities such as sailing, horse riding and wine tours. Facilities include two restaurants, a wine bar and a pool bar area, as well as several pools, an attractive spa and a gym in the old wine cellars.

Restaurants & Bars
Fine dining restaurant Alati has three seating areas: a roof terrace, courtyard and wine cave - all are delightful for an evening meal. We loved the lamb, cooked in a traditional, local way; it went well with Vedema chips. Pergola pool restaurant serves a buffet and à la carte breakfast. Private dining is available at Canava Wine Bar.
Alati: Mediterranean cuisine, locally sourced ingredients. Open daily for dinner.
Pergola: poolside restaurant, open daily for breakfast and lunch.
