Location

Scruffy and authentic, Montmartre is a joy to explore with its independent shops, quirky museums and high class food stores lining rue des Martyrs.

The hotel is a short walk away from the Basilica Sacré-Cœur and Square Louise Michel.
By plane: flights from London or Manchester to Paris Charles De Gaulle take 1 hour 15 minutes and the hotel is 30 minutes' drive. Paid parking nearby. skyscanner.net

Rooms either face the street or the internal courtyard. Décor is simple with glossy black doors and brown-tiled bathrooms. The beds are comfortable and rooms have plenty of amenities.

Dine in the Art Deco brasserie which has a buzzy vibe - booking is recommended. The restaurant also serves a buffet breakfast. We loved the mushroom soup with black truffle, followed by sole Mikado with capers and lemon sauce. Classic desserts include poire Belle Hélène and île flottante.

Restaurant Rochechouart: bistro, seasonal menus, traditional French cuisine. Open Tue-Sat for lunch and dinner, Sun for lunch.

Rooftop terrace: garden vibes, cosy benches. Open seasonally for drinks and light bites.
