Style
The bar area of the pub is pretty traditional, but the accommodation is more modern, featuring quirky wallpapers, pictures and ornaments. Each room is unique, characterful and colourful - all would be fun to stay in. There's even a touch of luxury in the form of Egyptian cotton bed linen.
Service & Facilites
This place has something of a split personality - whilst the Pilot is a busy working pub, upstairs is more sedate. Rooms are surprisingly characterful, original and smart. There are a few luxuries, like premium toiletries. The free on-site parking is also bonus in an area where parking is usually difficult.

Restaurants & Bars
The ground floor of the pub has a large bar, where a good-sized menu and range of drinks is served. In the summer there are tables in the attractive garden. The menu has classic pub dishes such as haddock and chips, and steak and ale pie. The slow-braised feather blade of beef with pak choi, spring onion, oyster mushroom, soy, ginger, chilli and sesame dressing is tasty and unusual.
The Pilot: traditional British pub with garden. Hearty fare, seasonal ingredients. All-day menu, open daily
