The hotel's exterior is by K-Studio, which also worked on Mykonos airport, while the interiors are by celebrated designer Vangelis Bonios. The result is a seamless blend of the traditional and contemporary and Kalesma is reminscent of old Myconian houses set around a square.

The restaurant is one of the most sought after on the island and executive chef Costas Tsingas prepared creative Greek cuisine. Dishes include roast octopus, flatbreads, marinated fish and saladas. Greek dish saganaki (feta cheese and fig wrapped in filo pastry, with almonds and honey) is simple and delicious.
