Expect a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at this stylish country-house hotel. With its tasteful Farrow & Ball-painted walls, Chesterfields and other comfortable furniture, it's a perfect bolthole for recharging the batteries. We loved the local artworks, fresh flowers and real fires in winter.
The owners and the rest of the staff offer welcoming yet unobtrusive service. Glewstone Court is licensed for both weddings and civil ceremonies and can be booked for exclusive use. There's also plenty of parking.

There are nine rooms reached by a wooden staircase. All have a big bed with quality linens, bathrobes and armchairs, while higher category rooms have a mini bar. Some of the bathrooms have a walk-in shower or a roll-top bath.

Lunch and dinner is served in The Cedar Tree restaurant (or the courtyard in summer), with both an à la carte and a six-course taster menu available. They also serve Afternoon Tea. Chef Richard Kaye's food features excellent local produce, such as Pant-ys-Gawn goats' cheese, local meat and game and fresh vegetables.
The Cedar Tree: two AA Rosettes, fine dining, Modern British cuisine. Open Wed-Sat for lunch and dinner, Sunday lunch served 12-2pm.
