Location
Walk to St Peter's Square to see the Grade-II listed Central Library and a bronze sculpture of Emmeline Pankhurst. For upmarket restaurants, head to Spinningfields.
The hotel is on Peter Street, just off Deansgate and a 5-minute walk to the Spinningfields area.
By car: around 2 hours from Nottingham and 4 hours and 30 minutes from London. Paid parking available nearby.
By train: London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly takes around 2 hours, after which, it's a 20-minute walk (or 7-minute drive) to the hotel. Book trains to Manchester.
Style
This Grade-II listed building has slick décor, from the huge drop light chandelier in the lobby to the cream leather banquettes in Peter Street Kitchen. The spa and relaxation area is in the former vault.
Service & Facilities
Facilities include the basement spa with a 12-metre swimming pool, whirlpool tub, steam room and sauna, as well as a gym. From the lively waiting staff in the restaurant to the reception team who whisked our luggage to our rooms, the service was excellent.
