Location
The drive from New Milton station is not particularly picturesque but once you reach the property, you can take a lovely winding path down to nearby Naish beach. Bournemouth is 30 minutes away. The Gothic revival mansion Highcliffe castle is a 30-minute walk (or seven-minute drive).
By car: around 2 hours 30 minutes from London and Bristol, and 3 hours from Birmingham. Free parking available.
By train: London Waterloo to New Milton takes 1 hour 40 minutes. The hotel is a 5-minute drive from the station. Book trains to New Milton.
Style
This is a beautiful country house with an attractive regency red-brick exterior. Look out over the manicured croquet lawn from the terrace, and beyond to the 9-hole golf course surrounded by woodland. Corridors are decorated with botanical prints and antiques.
Service & Facilities
Service here is incredible, with the ratio of staff to guests being three to one. There are plenty of facilities, including one of Europe's largest hydrotherapy pools, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a cookery school and a 9-hole golf course, which is free for guests, including equipment.
