Style

This family-owned elegant hotel has a calm and homely atmosphere. The décor is traditional, while the more modern conservatory-style restaurant has large windows looking out to a patio and the moat. The public spaces are immaculate.

Service & Facilities

There's a pleasant, homely atmosphere but it still feels special thanks to great service. The hotel runs events throughout the year, from wreath-making and painting on fine china courses to celebrity talks and wine dinners.

Bedrooms

There's a mix of luxury country house-style rooms and more more contemporary rooms. All have ensuite bathrooms, Hypnos beds and facilities such as TVs, tea and coffee-making facilities, and mini-fridges. We appreciated the little touches such as fresh milk, sherry and fruit.

Room types: Single, Standard Double, Deluxe Double, Junior Suite, Castle Suite

Key amenities: ensuite bathrooms with L'Occitane toiletries, a basket of Herefordshire produce, TV, free Wi-Fi

Restaurants & Bars

The restaurant offers all-day dining, from breakfast, morning coffee and pastries to lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Dishes include produce from the local kitchen garden. There were some less usual menu items, such as the shakshuka at breakfast. The Herefordshire beef was fantastic.

Restaurant & Bistro: Seasonal, locally sourced produce. Open Wed-Sun for breakfast, Wed-Sat for afternoon tea, Fri-Sat for dinner (tasting menu only on Sat), and Sun for lunch. Mains from £17.
