It's a five-minute boat trip to Orta San Giulio, the lake's principle village.

Designed by renowned architect and designer Piero Lissoni, plush sofas, designer chairs and mismatched mirrors add a fashionable touch. This is a stylish hotel, where wood, stone, metal and glass dominate. The long communal table encourages guests to mingle in the large living area.

There are only 11 rooms and suites. Spread over two floors, all are sleek and tastefully decorated. Bathrooms have steam shower rooms and are fitted with Italian-designed Fantini Rubinetti taps and fittings.

Enjoy an à la carte breakfast in-room, in the lounge or in the gardens. In the restaurant, Chef Diego Bertona can rustle up an exquisite tasting menu, or opt for à la carte to stimulate the imagination.
